Red Planet Tycoon is completely free on every platform below. Same game, same colony, same save if you sign in. Nothing to buy, no ads from third parties, no account required to start.
Fastest way in: open it in your browser. It takes about three seconds.
Ways to play
Recommended
Play in your browser
Desktop, tablet or phone. The full game loads straight in the page - no download, no launcher, no sign-up.
Short version: start in the browser. If you end up playing daily on a phone, grab the Android build or install the browser version to your home screen using the steps below.
Install it as an app
Turn the browser version into a real app.
Red Planet Tycoon is a progressive web app, which means any browser copy can be installed to your home screen or desktop. It then opens fullscreen, with no address bar, and keeps working without a connection. Your existing progress carries straight over - installing does not start a new colony.
iOS iPhone and iPad
Safari only. Chrome on iOS cannot install web apps.
Click the install icon at the right of the address bar.
If you do not see it, open the browser menu and choose Install Red Planet Tycoon or Apps → Install this site as an app.
Click Install. It gets its own window and taskbar icon.
Will I lose my colony if I install it?
No. The installed app uses the same browser storage as the tab you were playing in, so your colony is exactly where you left it. If you want the same colony on a second device, sign in with Google on both and cloud saves handle the rest.
Does it really work offline?
Yes. The game files are cached after the first load, and the simulation runs locally. Contracts, leaderboards and community events need a connection, and they resume as soon as you are back online.
Is there an iPhone App Store version?
Not yet. The Safari install above is the supported route on iOS and gives you the same fullscreen experience. An App Store release is on the list, not on a date.
How do I uninstall it?
On iOS and Android, press and hold the icon and remove it like any other app. On desktop, open the app menu and choose Uninstall. Removing the app does not delete a colony that is backed up to a signed-in account.
That is the whole decision.
Every route lands on the same game: a fogged hex map, 250 Gold, and a Command Base. Read the game overview or the FAQ first if you would rather know what you are getting into.
